About & How it Works-

Heat meters typically consist of a flow sensor, temperature sensors, and a calculator. The flow sensor measures the amount of water passing through the heating/chilled system, while the temperature sensors measures the difference in temperature between the supply and return pipes. The calculator then uses this data to calculate the amount of heat energy consumed. 

The BEX3 Clamp-On Ultrasonic Heat Meter range is the perfect solution for applications where heating / chilling system shutdowns are impractical or disruptive. These non-intrusive Heat Energy flow meters attach seamlessly to the exterior of pipes, eliminating the need for direct contact with the internal fluid. They operate by measuring the transit time of an ultrasonic signal sent between two sensors. The "time of flight" is precisely recorded in both directions, and the difference is calculated to determine the liquid velocity (V) inside the pipe. This is achieved through the equation: V = K * D * dt, where K is a constant, D is the distance between transducers, and dt is the time of flight difference.
