Solving a Sticky Problem…

High viscosity fluids, or fluids with changeable viscosity can be problematic to meter effectively. Used as an animal feed additive, molasses typically has a viscosity in the region of 5000cPs. But can reach 10,000cPs based on blend and temperature.

High viscocity fluids

Macnaught MX-Series of oval gear meters are fitted with high viscosity rotors rated to 1,000,000cPs. Which retain their accuracy, regardless of changes in viscosity. Whilst also providing a low pressure drop. Where fluids are heated to high temperatures, but still remain viscous, the MX-Series with combination high temperature and high viscosity rotors are used at up to 150c and 1,000,000cPs.
